  • FPL: Displaying of train part lines (e.g. for multiple units, circulations)
  • FPL: Extended consideration of braking characteristics of the train and calculation of speed restrictions by braking conditions
  • FPL: Displaying of regular and special operating days by symbols, magnifier in the graphic
  • FPL: Extended properties of the stations (e. g. change of line, end-halt, end-platform)

Preview and information to the new FBS-programme iPLAN

With our new programme iPLAN we want to simplify the designing of timetables using more than one line. A train, which will change lines often, can be inserted or moved in one work step. With iPLAN you may create a graphic timetable within your network dynamically in every compilation you need. This will lead you to graphic timetables showing the complete run of a train and gives you the quick overview of bottlenecks in your network or discontinuities in relation to other trains.

This elementary change of the data use will lead to a changed and separated database for infrastructure and train data beginning from the second expansion stage of iPLAN. Following this, there will be separate programmes for building the infrastructure model (Infrastructure database iFRANK) and for planning and working with the train slots (Integrated Timetable Programme iPLAN). As you know FBS, there will be no significant changes in the work with FBS, users of FPL and NETZ do not have to realign significant.

After launching the first version of iPLAN, which is planned for June 2009, there will be updates for FPL and NETZ for a transition period. Anyway there will be the possibility to convert FPL- and NETZ-files to iPLAN and during the transition period also vice versa. You may change between the programmes without problems.

iPLAN is based of the functionality of the former FBS-programme NETZ. In the same manner users can now click their graphic timetables. These timetables may be saved for future work or used for building of one train path only. All of the functions known from FPL, like the run-ning time calculation and the slot detection, can be used in the known manner, but now in the whole network by some simple clicks.

For our customers with a valid maintenance contract we provide individual offers for the upgrade from the former FBS-versions to iPLAN, considering the duration of the individual maintenance contract. During our customers meeting in April 2009 we will publish the offers.

FBS-update October 2007

The FBS-version October 2007 was released today. The following and some more functions are new or changed in the FBS-version October 2007:

  • FPL: complete revised working, viewing and printing of the graphic timetable with extended possibilities for viewing (turned axis by 90°, timetable head with printing of gradients) and improved working (zooming and moving of the working sheet by mouse)
  • FPL: parallel printing of graphic timetables in a proportional view (by length of the line)
  • FPL: line speed list extended and can be combined (e.g. for defining of a restricted speed profile [track failures], which must be used with the regular speed list of a line)
  • FPL: analysing of the traction energy demand by different time periods possible
  • FPL: company defined braking tables may be used (at the moment for German [DR; DB Netz/FV NE] and Greek railways [OSE] only)
  • NETZ (customers timetable): period or weekday defined printing of the timetable (e.g. print only trains, which are operating Mon-Fri except bank holidays)
  • NETZ (customers timetable): development of an standardised legend of special operating days for all timetables of a network possible
  • NETZ (customers and drivers timetable, interval chart): function undo and redo added
  • FBS: manner of time display and rounding rule are harmonised in all FBS-programmes; for printing a different rounding rule may defined

FBS-Viewer for FPL-files available

iRFP has published the FBSbetrachter, a programme for viewing and printing of FPL-timetable files (like the Acrobat Reader used for PDF) without purchasing a FBS-licence, This programme can be downloaded and used for free by everyone. By using the FBSbetrachter you will be able to open FPL-files without an installation of the Timetable Construction System FBS. For opening the FPL-file with the FBSbetrachter please remind, that the use of this file in the viewer programme must be authorized in the FPL-file (FPL > Edit > General timetable data > File information > Authorized for viewer).

There is no technical need for installing the FBSbetrachter, just copy to you hard disk. As additional advantage of the programme there is no need for Administrator-privileges for using and FBSbetrachter will not change anything within the Windows-Installation of the guest machine.

FBSbetrachter can use FPL-files beginning from version 4.7b without any problems, older files can be opened also with some limitations (train features must contain maximum speed, engine and load only). We recommend saving your FPL-files while authorizing for viewer in version 4.8a. FPL-files will be shown in the FBSbetrachter with a watermark (name of the FBS-licence which was used for the last editing of this file).

An extension of the FBSbetrachter for opening NETZ-files (for viewing and printing of Driver's Timetables, Customer's Timetables, Circulation Plans and Interval Graphics) will be added in future upon request. Do not hesitate to contact us!

You may download the FBSbetrachter after the acceptance of our T&C (AVRB) now (ZIP; 1,2 Mbyte; will open FPL-files up to version 4.8b).

Customers meeting 2007 and FBS-update February 2007

iRFP will held customers meetings with three focus themes (regional traffic tenders, infrastructure and daily operation) in 2007. These meetings will be held in German language and are focused to our German, Austrian and Swiss customers. Nevertheless, if your are interested in these meetings, please check the (German) webpage for further information and registration about the "Anwendertreffen 2007.

All of our maintenance contract customers have got the regular FBS-update with new functions and bugfixes in the last weeks.

Replacement of license key

In the last months there were on the part of our customers increasingly demands for the replacement of parallel-port-keys with USB-keys. Background of the customers demand is the replacement of computers or the change over to laptops with our customers who do not have the traditional parallel-port anymore in many cases. In order to simplify the procedure, we summarised the most important points shortly for the replacement:

1. Please co-ordinate the replacement by telephone or by e-mail with our team. The costs are per license key 50 € (for customers with a valid maintenance contract) and/or 95 € (for customers without a maintenance contract) plus postage and VAT (if applicable).

2. Please send the old license key by certified letters and in a air-padded envelope to our Dresden office (license keys in standard letters unfortunately often disappear and are not replaced by the German Mail).

3. You will receive your new USB license key within 5 workdays by a German-mail certified letter.

4. On next occasion you receive the bill for the replacement through our home office in Frankenheim.

The proedure is unchanged regarding the replacement of defective license keys, in the same way as the part of the new procurement price of 50 € (see the general terms and conditions, no. 7.4.). Also, we would like to point out repeatedly the terms to the protection of the license key laid down into the general terms and conditions: the license key is the license document for the programme and therefore can not be replaced by loss.

Remark

Dear customers and FBS user, on this page we inform you of innovations concerning FBS and iRFP. Here you find out when updates are to be expected, which changes were realised and which ones are planned. Of course we are pleased with suggestions and references to this topic at any time.

Please turn to our customer service by e-mail.
